Survival needs when PKing

Here is a list of certain things that should be in you backpack when you decide to venture north for PK. In all seriousness, however, I think that at any given time it is a good idea to have these things. You never know what might happen, whether you will bump into trolls, or just plain find yourself lost or stranded. The list goes:

    It is a backpack
    In it is carried:
    [5] a mirrored lantern
    [2] a water skin
[3] a large slab of meat
[1] a vial of thin yellow liquid

A few notes.

You don’t necessarily need the specific items in here, or that many. But I am merely showing you what you might see in my pack at any given time. Sometimes I have 3 water skins if I am with Ciel, or I might have more or less lanterns, and they are not always mirrored lanterns. I might have 2-5 pieces of meat, or 1-4 vials. Either way, it is a good idea to have at least one of each. Going north and asking for food, water, lantern, etc. shows that you are not prepared and should not be up there.

Also a good thing to practice is, never let your supply go to 0 of a certain item, and to only use the meat & water when you absolutely need it. This way when you do, it is will be there. There is nothing worst then being lost and hungry/thirsty/both. Or running out of lanterns in the blight, while trolls are after you.

The vials are more optional, but they can help ensure survival if your horse goes haggard far from home with a troll on your tail, unless you don’t value your life or eq more then the cost of one or two. Besides after you have them, and you make sure when hunting your horse is in decent shape (i.e. A warhorse with some equipment). You will probably not use them often. I have only used 1 vial in several weeks, and that was in the spine haggard and 10 trolls trailing my group.
