Basic Commands

Bear with me, you may know any or all of these commands. Some are so simple it is funny. But to a newbie that may not know it is good info. By the way, these commands do not have to be typed in full. Commands such as rest, can be accoplished by just typing r. I am not going to try to explain every command there is, but tt is always good to know the commands to do certain things... This should at least get you going.

Help - the all mighty help command. If you have a question about any command or weave, help probably has something for it. I have this command explaination because some commands are not that well explained. Just type "help" for a list of basic commands. (Type "commands" for a full list.) and "help {the command}" for the help file.

Alias - A very valuable command. It gives you the ability to set a sting of commands to a chosen key or word. Such as, "alias kk kill deer", this alias would allow you to type in kk, instead of kill deer.
The syntax is like this:
alias {letter(s) or word} {command of choice}
alias a assist nevelo
alias x kill dark
alias spam change spam 2
etc.

Assist - this assists the person you type in battle. If bob, your partner is fighting a creepers, you don't need to type kill creepers, but instead assist bob. Setting this to an alias helps speed up exping a lot.

Bash - issues the bash command in battle. You do not need to type in bash {creature or person} unless you are not fighting them. Bash knocks a person to the ground, allowing you to hit them harder because with out a counter attack for two rounds. You will need to wait one round for it to "wind up" and if you are successful you will bash them. If not you will miss and not be able to issue commands for a round.

Kick - issues the command kick in battle. Same as bash, when fighting all you have to type in kick. It will attempt to kick the person. If successful will drain a small amount of hp and mvs. This is very helpful against PC opponents, for with kick you can make them go haggard sooner, which will prevent them from running as far or at all from battle.

Color complete - enables mud text colors. Some clients do not support this.

Change spam 1 - will remove a lot of item spam.
Instead of seeing this when you look inside you inventory.
a slab of meat
a slab of meat
a slab of meat
a water skin
a water skin
a dagger
a sack
With spam 1 on, you will see...
[3] a slab of meat
[2] a water skin
a dagger
a sack
Also does this for multiple items in a room. It is very useful, and I myself have it on all the time. Helps remove alot of lag.

Change spam 2 - will remove battle spam. Very useful to put on alias. In large groups with out it on, battle can be very hard to see anything. This will remove all attacks made that are not by you or at you. (very useful in smobing) This will remove a lot of lag, and allow you to bash/kick/channel more effectively when you can see each round.

Brief - This enables brief mode, which disables room descriptions. Helps for lag and spam.

Compact - Enables compact mode, one that I don't use, but if you can learn to read with it on it helps remove a lot of lag. It removes the spaces placed in between each line.

Listen all - You will need to issue this command to be able to hear narrates and chats, normally disabled when you first start a character. I would turn this on once you are ready to participate with chats and narrate. Narrates are for IC talking, role playing (rp). Chats are for OOC.

Call - most large cities have gate keepers. At night the gates close. To get out of the city or in it, while at the gate type "call" for it to open. Watch that you get in quick, they close pretty fast sometimes.

Put/Take - is used to put an item in a container. Such as "put meat sack" will put a piece of meat that is in your inventory into your sack. Or "put all sack" will put everything in your inventory into your sack. Now some extras that you may not have known. "put 2.meat sack" will put the second piece down of meat into your inventory and "put all.meat sack" will put all meat that is in your inventory into your sack. Take works the same way but with items inside of a container. "take meat sack" takes a piece of meat that is in your sack and puts it into your inventory. (get can also be used) Take also is used with items on the ground, "take meat" takes a piece of meat that is on the ground and puts it into your inventory. If you need to get your equipment off of your corpse, then type "take all corpse".

Wear/Remove - Wear is used to wear a piece of equipment. wear shirt. wear shield. wear all are examples. Remove is used to remove a piece of equipment when using it. remove shirt, remove shield, remove all.

Rest/Sit/Sleep - Typing rest will make your character rest. :P In this state you are more vunerable to attack, (dodge and shield parry down alot) and stabs upon you will deal much greater damage. But your hp and mvs will regenerate at a much faster rate then when standing. Sit is just like rest except you are in a little less vunerable state, but your hp and mvs will not regenerate as fast. Sleep is much better than rest for regenerating, but while sleeping you cannot here narrates chats or anything anyone says in your room. It is the most vunerable state. A stab upon you in this mode would most likly kill.

If you didn't know already... :P

To chat, narrate, say, or emote, simply type chat, narrate etc before what you want to be said. Such as, "say Hello", you will say hello. Note: emote is body language. So when using emote think of the word emote as your name. Typing in "emote looks confused." will look like (if it were me) "Nevelo looks confused." to everyone else.

Moving is as simple as typing n, s, e, w, u, d for north, south, east, west, up, down. Respectivly.
