Mud Rules

We're not power-tripping, uptight rule freaks, but for the game to work and to be fair, there have to be rules and norms Bear in mind that these rules exist to level the playing field for everyone and to make the race war as realistic (and as much fun) as possible. We are perfectly aware that some of the players use ICQ to communicate with an enemy, and there isn't a great deal that we can do about that. However, it violates the spirit of the game and it is LAME. Competition and rivalry is an integral part of the game: if you can't hack the pace, want to have your hand held and to cheat your way to the top, go play smurfmud.

1. No Multiplaying.

If you are on the game in any form with more than one character at the same time, be it on the same side or on opposing sides, even if one is linkless and regardless of which computer the characters are playing from, all characters involved will be immediately demoted to level 1 (zapped). Even if you try and use the tired old excuse that you are on a LAN (Local Area Network), we are still able to discover if you are at the same computer.. NOTE: it takes one keystroke for an immortal to find out who is multiplaying. The message is simple: "don't".

2. Wait before switching characters.

There are set time delays when switching characters. Violators will have both characters zapped. Time is counted in real minutes and not affected by reboot or crashes.

3. Loophole reward revocation

It is not explicitly illegal to abuse loopholes and you are encouraged to report them (anything that doesn't work as advertised and lets you do things you normally couldn't do or was harder to do). However any rewards (equipment, points, or otherwise) will be revoked.

4. Roleplay violations

Roleplaying on this mud is by choice. Quest Point (QP) rewards are given for roleplaying by immortals in charge of RP. Violations of roleplaying will result in QP deductions.

5. You are a houseguest

The immortal staff owns this mud and invite you to freely play here. Please keep in mind that you are a welcome guest but that you are expected to conduct yourself accordingly. All message areas, communications channels, and the very ability to play here are all privileges offered to you and may be withdrawn at any time for conduct unbecoming a houseguest. This includes racial and sexual harassment but does not necessarily include swearing.

Appeals

Unannounced changes to the game by immortals, including control of mobs, are expressly permissible, but otherwise must be announced beforehand on the news board in order to prosecute violations of #3. Player killing and player stealing are legal but may have consequences under #4.
Punishment must be by a visible immortal or include notification of the immortal involved, along with the specific rule broken. You get one appeal to a higher immortal. There is no appeal from an Implementor. The current Appeals immortal is Zun.
